Le nouveau maire élu de la commune de Bibemi a montré au propre comme au figuré sa grande expérience d’homme dévoué à la tâche aussi bien dans l’administration camerounaise que dans son parti de cœur le Rassemblement démocratique du peuple camerounais-Rdpc. Il mérite tout simplement aujourd’hui être à la place qu’il faut pour de nouveaux défis.

Le chemin pour arriver à la tête de la mairie n’a pas été un parcours aisé. Mais il faut le reconnaitre, il s’agit là d’un premier essai. L’homme avait toujours souhaité rendre service au Parlement. Mais cette voie lui a toujours été barrée mieux refusée par ceux qui croient détenir entre leurs mains, le destin des autres. Un destin dont seul Allah est pourtant le vrai commandant en chef. Après de nombreuses frustrations comme celle de 2018 où son nom avait été enlevé à Yaoundé dans la liste des sénateurs du Nord par une main cachée, le natif de Djaloumi voit un nouveau jour se lever dans sa riche et abondante carrière. On se souvient même que certains de ses proches lui avaient conseillé d’abandonner la politique pour se consacrer à autre chose ou même choisir une autre formation politique. Ceux-là avaient alors oublié l’infatigable, le tenace, le fidèle YEDI Armand. Lui qui s’est frotté à de dures épreuves sans jamais se décourager. Les appels d’encouragement et surtout de félicitation qu’il reçoit tous ces jours montrent que beaucoup reconnaissent le mérite de cet homme.

Il a également opposé un non catégorique à tous ceux qui lui avaient proposé les rangs d’une autre formation politique. « Je crois aux idéaux du Rassemblement démocratique du peuple camerounais-Rdpc et à l’homme qui les incarne j’ai nommé le président Paul Biya. Je milite avec conviction dans les rangs du Rdpc depuis sa création et ne pense pas un beau matin me lever pour arborer les couleurs d’un autre parti », a toujours clamé haut et fort Alhadji YEDI Armand. Oui, les frustrations et les obstacles ont été son menu permanent. Mais sa ténacité dans le sacrifice et son efficacité teintées de sagesse lui ont permis d’être au-dessus de l’affront. Son couronnement ce mardi 25 février 2020 en devenant officiellement maire élu de la commune de Bibemi, est largement mérité. C’est grâce à une stratégie bien huilée et savamment étudiée que le sage de Bibemi a eu raison de ses adversaires politiques.

Un comptable public ! Voilà au propre comme au figuré, le profil d’homme qu’il faut à la tête des collectivités territoriales décentralisées appelées à implémenter la décentralisation, souhait ardent de tous les camerounais.

Les défis qui attendent cet homme de poigne à la tête de la plus riche et vaste commune de la Bénoué et même du Grand-Nord, sont nombreux. Lui-même les reconnaît volontiers. « Notre arrondissement aussi vaste qu’il soit, n’a pas de routes viables. Nous devons prioritairement nous pencher sur le problème des routes. Celles-ci nous permettrons de partir d’un coin à un autre sans trop de complications. Nous allons aussi nous attaquer aux problèmes de santé, d’éducation et surtout de l’emploi des jeunes. Comment faire pour résorber le chômage ambiant en milieu jeune ? Voilà quelque chose qui nous tient à cœur. Les femmes ne sont pas en reste. Nous devons nous pencher sur les problèmes qui les concernent. Elles sont aujourd’hui regroupées autour des GIC. Il est question que la commune fasse quelque chose pour les soutenir », tranche le président de la section Rdpc Bénoué-Est. A côté de ces priorités, on peut ajouter l’adduction problématique en eau potable de la ville et l’accès aux nouvelles technologies (internet) dont le débit demeure un vrai sujet de débat.

Aux militants du Rdpc ainsi qu’aux conseillers municipaux, YEDI Armand se veut très reconnaissant. « Mon sentiment ne peut être que celui d’un homme comblé, heureux. Un sentiment de reconnaissance à l’endroit de mes militants à qui je dis un grand merci pour leurs votes en faveur du Rdpc. Aux conseillers municipaux du Rdpc qui m’ont élu, je leur dis également merci. Je suis redevable à tous. Et nous allons travailler d’arrache pieds pour le développement et le progrès de notre commune », promet le maire entrant.

A 54 ans bien sonnés, YEDI Armand est marié et père de nombreux enfants. Il annonce qu’il va travailler avec tout le monde pour le plus grand bien de sa commune. « Je serais le maire de tout le monde même ceux qui ne m’ont pas voté à la commune ou qui n’ont pas voté la liste du Rdpc lors du double scrutin », affirme-t-il.
