Dans un message audio, le maire prévient que le coronavirus tue un homme chaque minute qui passe dans un coin du globe et demande à ses administrés de suivre les règles d’hygiène instruites par le gouvernement de la république du Cameroun.

Pour le jeune maire de Touboro, le coronavirus est une réalité et non un fake news tels que certains veulent le faire croire. C’est le virus qui défraie actuellement la chronique dans le monde entier. Ce qu’il appelle « une grande première dans le monde». Tous les Etats du monde en parlent, édictent des mesures (fermeture d’écoles, d’universités, arrêt momentané de travail) et tous se barricadent pour se protéger. Le maire interpelle à cet effet les populations de sa commune en générale et celles la ville de Touboro en particulier, à observer les règles d’hygiène élémentaires prescrites par le gouvernement camerounais et l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS) pour se protéger en respectant notamment les mesures de distanciation entre deux personnes, d’embrassade, de salutation, de lavage régulier des mains avec le savon, de regroupement dans les marchés en ville comme dans les campagnes, des réunions, obsèques etc.

Célestin YANDAL avertit avec force et désolation sa population que le coronavirus est très contagieux et tue sans ménagement. Il reconnait certes qu’aucun cas n’ait été jusque-là identifié dans la partie septentrionale du Cameroun mais se demande, si c’est une raison suffisante pour croiser les bras pour ne pas se protéger. « Nous devons nous habituer au port du cache nez ; nous devons évitez des actions qui peuvent compromettre nos vies et celles de nos proches. Chers frères le coronavirus est une réalité ; il tue chaque minute qui passe un homme dans le monde. Ne dit-on pas que mieux vaut prévenir que guérir », lance-t-il en guise de cri d’alarme et d’alerte.

Dans une population certes multilingue mais qui parle tous ou presque le Fulfulde (une bénédiction du Ciel), le maire réélu de Touboro prie celle-ci à respecter les règles prescrites par le gouvernement camerounais. Il laisse couler jusqu’à la fin de son message audio, la chanson d’un artiste qui interpelle les consciences à se protéger contre le coronavirus.

Selon les derniers chiffres du Ministère camerounais de la Santé publique, le Cameroun a enregistré à date 88 cas positifs de coronavirus et 2 décès. Ces chiffres peuvent grimper ou baisser en fonction du respect ou non des instructions gouvernementales.
