Les responsables de l’Unesco ont effectué du 29 au 31 mai 2021 une visite de terrain pour rencontrer quelques ménages bénéficiaires des plaques solaires dans le cadre du Projet PUERTEM mais aussi pour remettre 2 passeports à deux femmes rurales choisies dans l’arrondissement de Bibémi pour y effectuer une formation de 4 mois à Dakar au Sénégal dans le domaine des énergies renouvelables.

C’est la dernière ligne droite du Projet de promotion de l’utilisation des énergies renouvelables et des technologies d’efficacité énergétique dans les ménages des zones rurales du Cameroun en abrégé PUERTEM. Un Projet développé par le Ministère de l’Eau et de l’Energie avec l’appui de l’UNESCO et dont l’objectif général est d’améliorer à court, moyen et long terme, l’accès à l’énergie dans les régions du Nord et de l’Extrême-Nord, à travers la promotion des systèmes d’énergie solaire et biomasse contextualisés, l’introduction des équipements solaires, la production et l’utilisation de briquettes de biomasse et de foyers améliorés. L’objectif spécifique est de réduire l’indépendance à l’énergie hydroélectrique ; de réduire les difficultés que rencontrent les ménages notamment dans l’éducation de leurs enfants ; de diminuer la pression que les hommes exercent sur les forêts etc. Le Projet va durer deux ans (juillet 2020-juin 2022) et bénéficie d’un financement de l’India-UN Development Partnership Fund.

LE MAIRE DE BIBEMI ARMAND YEDI REMET LE DRAPEAU AUX DEUX DAMES RETENUES

Trois arrondissements Zina, Bibémi et Poli) ont été choisis dans les régions du Nord et de l’Extrême-Nord pour en être les bénéficiaires directs. Pour le cas spécifique de Bibémi, 400 ménages (au moins 6 personnes par ménages) ont déjà été identifiés avec un accent mis sur les femmes et les jeunes. La liste de ces ménages a été rendue publique.

Une famille à DJALOUMI

La mission conduite par Mme NSOM Epse PIAL Annie-Claude (P.Officer) à Zina, Bibémi et Poli, a rencontré quelques ménages des différents villages bénéficiaires dans les trois arrondissements. Cette descente sur le terrain a permis à l’équipe de voir de près les difficultés auxquelles font face les familles identifiées. « Nous n’avons pas d’énergie électrique. Nos enfants étudient avec les lampes torches. Nous attendons beaucoup de cette aide de l’Unesco », lance une maman rencontrée dans le village Djaloumi. Cette visite a également permis à cette équipe de remettre les passeports à 5 femmes rurales (2 à Bibémi) choisies pour aller suivre pendant quatre mois à Dakar au Sénégal, une formation dans le domaine des énergies renouvelables. Avant la remise des Kits (plaques solaires, foyers améliorés) prévue à la fin de l’année 2021, le projet va former 12 personnes de Bibémi à Garoua. Celles-ci à leur tour, formeront d’autres dans des ménages. 

En remettant les passeports à dames Maïlita ADAMOU et GABNOBA Béatrice, le maire de la Commune de Bibémi Armand YEDI, leur a demandé d’être de dignes ambassadrices du Cameroun. « Faites tout pour être parmi les premières formées. Notre commune compte énormément sur vos connaissances pour l’aider à résorber son déficit énergétique », a indiqué le Maire Armand YEDI. En effet, la fourniture en énergie électrique occupe la première place des difficultés auxquelles est confrontée la commune de Bibémi. Malgré une légère amélioration dans la distribution, la commune est régulièrement plongée dans le noir. Une situation qui paralyse les activités économiques et empêche les administrations à mieux se déployer sur le terrain. La commune attend beaucoup du Projet PUERTEM. C’est à ce titre que le maire a longuement remercié le Ministère de l’Eau et de l’Energie et surtout l’Unesco, pour leurs soutiens indéfectibles et indéniables au développement de Bibémi.
